"Beau Jest", a family situation comedy written by James Sherman, tells the story of Sarah Goldman, a young Jewish girl, who has a non-Jewish boyfriend. Her parents keep pressuring her to find "a nice Jewish boy". In an effort to appease them she hires an actor to pretend to be her Jewish beau.
