Karen Dugard

Karen Dugard is a long time member of SSTG and the current Treasurer of our Board of Directors.

Karen has acted in and directed numerous shows in the MD/VA area, her talent and hard work have lead her to some of her favorite roles lately: Eunice in "Streetcar Named Desire", Maggie in "Dancing at Lughnasa", and most recently in "Quilters" multiple roles including Margaret, Miss Jesse, Ellie, Harriet, and Lillian. Her other favorite productions include "Play On!", "Satellite Parking", "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", "M*A*S*H", "Ravenscroft", "Don't Drink the Water", "The Bickersons" (a comedy routine reprising an old radio show with fellow actor Lou Swerda), and in SSTG's award winning "Suffering Fools" at the 2002 MD One Act Festival.

As a director her most rewarding achievement has been "Bully!" -- a full length, one man show about Theodore Roosevelt. "Bully!" was also adapted by Karen Dugard and Lou Swerda as a one act at the 2005 MD One Act Festival, where it won Best Lighting (thanks to Joe Connor) and where Lou picked up a well deserved acting award.
