Melissa has been an SSTG Member since 2004 when she volunteered to help out with "Bully!". Before long she had sweet talked her way onto the Board of Directors.
Melissa made her debut appearance on stage with SSTG in the 2005-2006 production of "Quilters" when she took the roles of Dana Bonham, Woman One, Katie, Janie, Child One, Cyrus Johnson, Becky, Cousin Felicity, Betty, and Clarence Cline.
Her favorite roles include Cyrus and Becky, because they got the most laughs.
Prior to appearing on stage, Melissa has worked behind the scenes with SSTG as Assistant Director for "Bully!", Stage Manager for "Kindertransport", Co-Producer of "Big Bucks", and as a backup sound and light technician on several other shows.
Melissa once asked Joe Connor why we continue to pursue this often thankless, tiresome, and unprofitable hobby. His answer was both smart-alecky and smart, "Because life is so peaceful, by comparison, when the show is over."
