Margaret Letetia Grzeszkiewicz was a sustaning member of the Sandy Spring Theatre group for over 50 years.
She acted, directed and filled many roles behind the scenes. She especially loved to work with children and was an excellent teacher and musical director.
As a member of our Board of Directors Margaret never missed a meeting or a party. Her donation of time, effort and enthusiasm were contributions that we will never be able to fully replace.
Margaret was born on Sept. 17, 1923, in Washington, D.C., and she died on Aug. 23, 2006.
She graduated from Eastern High School and worked as a civilian for the United States Department of Defense during World War II and as a community events reporter for the Montgomery County Courier during the 1970s and 1980s. She was the wife of the late John J. Grzeszkiewicz for 52 years.
She was a member of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ (Heritage and Aspen Hill congregations), Sandy Spring Theater Group and Sunshine Homemakers Club and was past president of Church Women United. She received many civic honors, including the State of Maryland’s ‘‘Heart of Family Community Education” in 2003.
