The City of Gaithersburg, Sandy Spring Theatre Group, and On the Road Theatre Company, present a ten-day children's theatre repertory of "Snoopy!!! The Musical," and "Cindy Rella & the Prince" August 18 through 27 at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn.

* "Snoopy!!! The Musical" (Presented by On the Road Theatre Company):

Friday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, August 19 at 11 a.m.; Tuesday, August 22 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; Saturday, August 26 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, August 27 at 3 p.m.

With music by Larry Grossman and lyrics by Hal Hackady, "Snoopy!!! The Musical" is a lighthearted production featuring the original characters from the comic strip, with a focus on that lovable beagle, Snoopy. Scenes are taken from memorable sequences right out of the Charlie Brown comic strip, ranging from the pumpkin patch to the psychiatrist's office.

* "Cindy Rella & the Prince" (Presented by Sandy Spring Theatre Group):

Saturday, August 19 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Sunday, August 20 at 3 p.m., Thursday, August 24 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., Friday, August 25 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, August 26 at 11 a.m.

In the updated script for "Cindy Rella & the Prince," written by Frank DiCostanzo and Herb Mintz, Cindy must turn to her friends for help and in the process learns the true value of humor, clear vision and friendship. This wonderful new twist on the classic "Cinderella" tale is sure to please all ages.

The Arts Barn is located at 311 Kent Square Road.

Originally built in 1900 as a stable for the Tschiffely family horses, the recently renovated Gaithersburg Arts Barn now houses artist-in-residence studios, an art gallery, a museum gift shop, and a 99-seat performing arts theater.
